I have a 1999 Cummins 2500 4 wheel drive with an automatic tranny. I will be towing a 5th wheel trailer with a gvwr of 9100 lbs. I am concerned about the weight when climbing grades to go to campgrounds. should I be?

Engine wise. Nope, suspension wise. Nope, transmission wise, yep. I don't know what up grades they did originally. But even if you use overdrive lock out the automatic transmission still has issues. You may need beefed up cooler and have it serviced more often. And maybe step up gear oil. And friction modifyer. Also u joints when you replace those go with sealed. My brother goes through a set every year with his Cummings 3500. His are the seviceable type. They blow seals and needle bearing.
