I have an 03 Ram 1500 SLT Sport with a 4.7 and 203k miles. I started getting codes on the engine but also got a code 79 and 0700 for the transmission. 0700 doesn't tell me anything and I can't find 79 anywhere. I'm hoping there is a service tech that is familiar with this code and can provide me some guidance.

Just as a side note, I'm also getting P0562 (low volts, probably battery but it still starts the truck okay and hasn't caused any other problems that I know of) and P0441 which is new to this latest round of problems. I had misfires that have cleared since I replaced a couple of coil packs and the plugs.

Question for you did you ever get error code 79 resolved with your transmission? My check engine light has been off and I have never had it come on. I just went to check the codes to show a friend how it should look and I noticed I had error code 79 pending for my Transmission it says intermittent and then it says that there's no information available that I needed to check the service book. Have you found anything on this yet? The dealership tells me they don't even know what it means.

No. I've cleared the codes repeatedly but they both always come back. Still no word on what the 79 code means either. The 0700 is a general maintenance code so I'm told. The truck is still going strong so far, 219k.
