Hello all,
New to posting on the forum. I have a 2014 1500 Express with 28000 miles.
Ok, so I had a "senior" moment a while back and forgot to shift out of 4wd when getting back onto dry pavement. Drove that way for several miles (like about 9 or 10 miles) before I realized what an idiot I am. One of the reasons I didn't realize my mistake sooner is that the drive train never showed any signs like binding or popping, etc. After figuring out what had happened I tested the transfer case by shifting in and out of all the transfer case setting several times. I drove it in 4hi and Low forwards and backwards several times ( on dirt this time) and everything appears to run fine.
Is there anything else I should do to assure there is no damage? Maybe a fluid change wouldn't hurt? Any ideas why there was no apparent binding while on dry pavement?
Thanks in advance for any advice
