I just purchased a transgo 45rfe-hd2 kit. My truck is a 2005 ram with a hemi and 545rfe trans. For the resistor it says on the 05 and up to skip this step. I thaught you could run the line pressure booster on the 05 545rfe so why cant you wire the resistor in conjunction with the kit?

It is a blanket clause covering there asses. 05 and up *were* easily tuned by a after market tuner, so if you are running the superchips trans tune or a diablo or what have you. You should not put the resistor inline or you could cause damage. If you never plan to use a tuner then putting the resistor in line is the exact same as using the sonnax line pressure booster. (i just installed the same shift kit in my 05 and the resistance between my old sonnax and the resistor provided in the kit are the exact same.)
