My Ram 1500 5.7L RWD just hit 90,000 miles and the transmission (545RFE) started having issues shifting from 2nd to 3rd. The check engine light came on so I ran the code P0732 - Gear 2 Incorrect Ratio. I checked the trans fluid level and it was good, took it to the shop and they replaced the shift selonoid, changed the filters and fluid. That didn’t work, next code was trans pressure sensor, replaced that and still no go. When they dropped the pan after the pressure sensor they found clutch material in the pan. Now we are buying a rebuilt transmission. Has anyone else had transmission issues with this truck. We just repaired the leaking rear pinon seal, leaking water pump and changed the plugs in May and now this... ready to get rid of my big horn. Looking at newer model dodges 15-18.

Why get rid of it you've almost got a new truck again.

Are you the original owner of this truck?

If so, and you completed you 5 year inspection, then the trans is covered under warranty.
2009 models came with a lifetime drive train warranty and this would be covered under it.

I had the same issue with my 09 (not original owner) It started by having a hard time downshifting to second under load. Had that issue for 10k or more more miles. Then it went to not wanting to shift at all. Then it was time for a rebuild. That was at 164k miles. I now have over 200k miles

When i still had my 2009 Ram 5.7L
It came with the Lifetime Power Train Warranty & i did the 5 year checkup & 100,000 mile checkup
I had also had the Maximum Care Lifetime Extended Warranty

At about 120,000 miles, i was advised to get the Transmission Rebuilt, they knew that i was going to sell it as soon as my 2016 Ram was delivered & ready to work as a Oversize Load Escort vehicle

I had the trans rebuilt under the factory warranty, i just had to wait until the dealers transmission tech could get to it

The new owner stops by on occasion & the only thing that he has had to do was replace the water pump & he drives it whenever he goes on trips over the hill to the desert areas, even up to MOAB, where he likes to play with his bikes & buggies
