As you may be able to tell by my post count, I am a total newb to this forum. Just did some searching but could not find what I was looking for. I just sprang a leak in my 96 1500 4x4 and the leak is from a rotted cooler line. I did pick up new lines and was able to get the old ones out (not in one piece). Evidently Dodge changed the design because I needed to pick up a male to female adaptor for the new lines which I have installed.
My question is this, is there any trick or tips you guys have to getting the new prebent lines in? Do I have to take apart half the truck to get them in without destroying them?
This will be the first step in bringing my baby back to life. When the truck is warm the transmission searches between 2nd and 3rd and from what I can tell that means the old gasket failure these rigs are known for and a tranny rebuild will be next. Have a few other items as well but I want to get this one done first.
Thanks ahead of time for any help.
