I was wondering what kind of Camper/trailers are members pulling with their 1500s? My Toy Hauler weights around 5300 empty and 8000-8500 loaded depending on gear, bikes, and if I fill up both 50gal water tanks. My 2007 Chevy 1500 5.3 Pulled it ok besides the 4 speed transmission was lacking. I'm sure my new ram with the 5.7 and 3.92s will pull circles around the chevy. Anyone have any pics of their 1500 in tow?
Here are a couple pics of the camper and the boat I tow. Both are around 32 feet hitch to rear and the jet boat with trailer is around 5000lbs.

No pics of the tow however my 1500 pull my utility trailer (6x12 tandem axle)up to 5500lb load (GVWR 7500Lb.) with no effort. We take a hit on MPG but its does have a HEMI that hauls ass,on both counts! My rig has 3.55 rears so I can only imagin what the 3.92 and 4.11 can do dragging a trailer around.

BTW: see your in American Falls ID,look dew west ,I'm in Boise. Howdy.

Good to know, thanks for the reply. once the rain/snow stops down here I'm going to have to hook up to the camper and head to the dunes. Or head to Boise seems like the banana belt lately when it comes to weather.
Yeah , rain and mild - it is winter but we have had days on end of rain. A spattering of snow that changed too rain by midday. Funny warm for a Boise winter.
fishin- what kind of trailer is that? Could a street bike fit up front?

It is a coyote rock climber 222 by KZ. Yes a street bike can fit up there. The front deck is 8x8 and has about 2000lb load capacity. I either run with one 4 wheeler and 2 dirt bikes or two 4 wheelers. When it is just bikes I can fit 4 with no problem.
I pull a tag trailer with a 8000# GVWR. The 1500 pulls as well as the 2011 F250 w/V10 did.
I'm running a 5.7L w/ 3.92 axle.
Here is mine. If I load too much on the tongue it squats quite a bit. I haven't upgraded to bags or anything, yet.

I pull my 32 foot coachmen camper weighing in at 9500 pounds :158: with the fresh water tank full. Looking to get some airbags to level it when towing, otherwise truck pulls like a champ. Ram for the win
We pull a 17' Casita Spirit Deluxe. It's on a 3500lb axle, so my truck is like..."What camper?". I still use a WDH, anti-sway bar, and am getting the Timbren suspension thingies. The truck rides like a giant boat when pulling, really nice.

:smiley_thumbs_up:
Thanks for all the replies. The replies and pics give me an idea of what I'm looking at suspension wise (squatting and ride) and true pulling capabilities.
This picture was before the leveling kit was installed. The camper is 26ft, roughly 8500-9000lbs when loaded. The truck does not even know it is back there. I have a hemi and 3.92 gears.

That is a good looking set up. Looks like the truck sits pretty level. Do you have any pics of your truck after the lift and tires? Sweet looking ride!
Hemi QC 4x4 w/ 3.92 LSD. I pull a 31 ft TT that is 7-8,000 lbs depending upon what I carry. I also use a 10K Equal-i-zer anti-sway hitch. No issues at all. I do have a little squat on hook-up. Not enough to be concerned about though. It just levels out the truck
This is what i'm going to be Towing this year. 28 foot Dutchman. EQ Distribution Hitch 3.92 Rear End. Brake Controller. Should be good to go, hopefully..
