Just put an AFE cold air intake on my 2010 Cummins 6 spd manual and the truck seems to bog down. It takes longer to get up to 2000 rpms, runs fine after that. The truck feels like its starving for air, but the AFE has got to move more air the the stock air box. Anyone have any ideas, or similar experiences? I have an H&S MM and delete pipe that I am going to put on the truck, but I want to get the AFE intake problem solved first.:4-dontknow:

Hi, I'm not as familiar with the Cummins as my gas engine. But I'd think someone here will chime in to point you to checking for any leaks in the new system, I know in the past when I opened up my air box in my 79 T/A it had too much air to swallow and would bog down. Had to make some adjustments to allow a mix of warmer air to keep it from choking when I stomped on it.

I have an AFE on my Hemi powered truck and it took a little time for it to "learn" it was getting more air.

How long have you had yours on?

Just put it on 2 days ago. I've driven the truck approximately 60 miles (mostly hwy) since the upgrade. I've checked all the sensor connetions and hose clamps, everything looks good. I haven't got any CEL's or anything. I'm hoping its an ECM learning thing. I'd hate to have to put the original box back on it.

My dad put an AFE on his 06 5.9 and at first you could feel the truck run different and the CEL came on. So we reset the battery and it cleared the light and finally gave the truck some power. I just think the truck had to learn that the CAI was there.
