I have a 2014 Ram 1500 with Uconnect 8.4 system.

I'm experiencing significant lag times (sometimes up to 30 seconds) when I switch my audio source to USB or SD. It will also confuse the USB and SD sources if I touch the on-screen buttons while it is switching sources between the two.

I'm also experiencing lag with the climate control system, which is controlled through the stereo unit. It can take 5-10 seconds for the heater/ac fan to begin blowing after I turn it on.

Is this a common issue with Uconnect, and if so, can it be fixed? I've had the issue since the truck was new (6 months ago), and had the dealer flash the latest update onto it a while back, but it didn't seem to help. Everything does ultimately work, so it's not really a critical issue, but it is annoying.

Same problem here. I loaded the new software myself and I think it is worse. I am going to load the older version back. My unit will reset every now and then.

Update - I loaded the latest uconnect update last night, and it did seem to help with the usb/sd lag. The whole stereo unit seems to be more responsive, but the climate control system is still lagging. Overall, I'm happy with the whole system...just wish it was a little more responsive.

Funny I was going to post this topic this morning! :-D

Same issue in my '14 2500. 8.4 unit. Serious lag as well when plugging a SD card or my phone using bluetooth. It sometimes will recognize it after 5 minutes after driving down the road OR if I shut the ignition on/off. This is so frustrating!!! What a pos!

Question: When was the last uconnect update released?

I almost want to return my truck because of this!!

I haven't done an update yet but have read elsewhere on the forum on how to do it yourself with a USB thumb drive.
I think there are YouTube videos with instructions too.

I upgraded to the newest version via thumb drive this evening which released on 7/24/14. Time will tell if this upgrade will fix the issues. I will update

Drove around all day today. Seemingly the update might of done the trick...
