I am having the same issue 2018 Ram 2500 Laramie, screen separation causing everything to jump around. Is this a known issue dealing with a possible recall situation?

My truck is past base warranty at 44K miles what are my options?

Contact Ram Cares on here and they will take care of you. I have a 2018 2500 as well with 45k miles and they are replacing my unit. I am just waiting on the unit to arrive to get it installed.

I looked in other Dodge forums and found where several people living in the south (mainly FL) have a problem with the screen "bubbling" due to delamination. I was surprised not to find anything on this forum. I have a 2018 RAM 2500 Power Wagon. We're now done with winter here in FL, but I didn't notice it until about the end of Feb. It's very noticeable. If heat is the issue, I wonder why it didn't start until Feb, when it was still rather cool. Unless it was a matter of it being cool (45-55) in the mornings and warming into mid-70 or higher during the day, plus considering the humidity. I don't have my windows tinted.... yet.
When I clean my screen, I spray screen cleaner lightly on a rag and wipe the screen, the same as you would do a computer screen.
This seems to be a manufacturer defect. Has anyone else noticed this issue? Thanks!
Sadly, my 2018 truck is no longer under warranty but my touch screen has also started delaminating. What’s even worse is as it delaminates I’m getting phantom button presses on the screen it is constantly trying to reset my clock.

The truck isn’t even two years old you would think there would be a recall of some kind by now, If this many people are having issues with the lamination touchscreen.

Thanks to all. I’m new to this forum. Great info. Sadly the reason I found this forum is because I am also having the same issues with my touch screen.
I’m still under warranty (32k miles) and one dealer already told me that it would not be covered. Does anyone know who I can contact to get some help.
thanks once again.

I have a 2018 RAM that's out of warranty and I have this issue... The top of the screen delaminated and its jumps all around and it's mostly unusable. Tried calling the dealer and they want $1,500+ to fix it...

Can anyone recommend a course of action moving forward? Seems a little unfair to pay that much money to fix an item that's an obvious factory defect.

I have a 2018 2500 with 38K miles. The delamination is causing phantom contact on my screen as well. What’s the best way to contact the Ram Cares team on this forum? Thanks for the assist.

Looks like RamCares has taken a vacation from the forum... It seems like the best way bring more attention to this issue is a social media blast... Which I hate, because it feels petty and many times doesn't really work. I've tried other means of contacting with little to no response. Not sure what else to do.

Frustrating is the nicest word I can use to describe this issue.

Good evening all. I just replaced my radios screen with the new part number from LG. As previously stated the new screen is higher resolution and looks much better. My screen had previously been replaced when I purchased the radio refurbished.

If your truck is outside of the bumper to bumper warranty it is not covered by the MOPAR extended warranty. This will have you spending big money at the dealer or buying a used unit that will develop the same issue.

It took me about 15 minutes to take apart the radio. What I noticed was a lot of clear goo that had leaked into the radio that was caused by the delamination. I cleaned this up pretty easily with a towel.

So far so good on the replacement. I will post the links below. If you send your radio to infotainment for repair you are looking at a minimum of $500 to repair. The replacement screen cost me 220 plus 35.00 next day air from Hong Kong.

Buy your screen here:NEW LA084X01-SL02 LG Display a-Si TFT-LCD 8.4-inch 1024×768 LCD panel 90 days wa | eBay

See replacement instructions here:

See my pictures as well. The old vs new part number is pictured. Be sure to not the clear goo that will probably be inside your radio. Looks like that seller sold out on eBay now trying to track one down elsewhere!

I am very disappointed with the my infotainment center in my 2018 Ram1500. The delamination started around 35K in the upper right hand corner and all service has been completed at the dealership. I cannot connect my phone because it will dial numbers randomly and the radio and settings change randomly. At 52K the screen is 50% and the dealership says well this is no longer covered although it seems to be a common issue. I really enjoy the truck but this issue is souring my ownership.
Please help!

RamCares replaced mine for free out of warranty at 39k miles. I don’t know why they don’t do a service bulletin and have all of them replaced that have the delaminating since it is obviously a manufacturing defect but if you do the leg work to get the process started they will do the right thing

Another successful replacement outside of warranty through Ram Cares. The UConnect specialist that handled my claim kept me up to date when unit shipped and verified I got it installed!
