@ramcares

please help.
Same issue as all others
2018 Ram 1500
Screen delaminated to point where it calls random people on its own, changes radio station and randomly increases volume scaring my infant son, unable to use backup cam or radio as a whole.
It’s useless
Same thing mine does I was towing a trailer and it scared me to death when the radio turned on by itself and the volume at 100% I'm lucky I didn't get into an accident. And I'm surprised it didn't blow my speakers. I'd hate to see that happen with your infant son in the truck with you and this happens.

These guys are full of shit.
“Because there’s no active recall regarding delaminating touchscreens we must support the dealer diagnosis”. It’s not covered under warranty because I’m out of warranty. I will never buy another dodge.

see screenshot from ramcares representative.
don’t waste your time.

2018 Ram 2500 Laramie screen delaminating for the second time. First screen lasted about 50k miles and the second one is delaminating after about three days. Also, the clear coat is flaking off the hood. The local Ram dealer and corporate customer service said there was nothing they could do since I am over there 36k mile warranty. I guess you buy a Ram 2500 for the motor and not the things surrounding it?

Hey so I have the same problem. My 18 laramie has been bubbling for a while but it wasn't bad and did not effect anything unless it has started to spread. My truck touchscreen is worthless no radio media or anything works because it continues to toggle through whatever is on the screen. Any ideas if it is under warranty or do I need to do find a private company to fix. Thanks for any help.

I have a 2018 3500 dually Laramie Longhorn that is having the system changed out today. Had the same delamination problem as everyone else. I also had the system flashing and jumping around last Friday but it cleared up. My cruise control doesn't work most of the time either. I haven't had any paint issues but will keep an eye out. Also had my check engine light come on heading back home. I also had to get a while new set of tires because the Nexen tires had tread separation in two and side wall was defective on two others. Ram did nothing to help. Said it was the tire manufacturer. Wound up getting back $180 from Nexen.

Hi @jmslimick & @WJHeller - If you are willing to move forward with addressing this with your dealers, please be sure to follow up with us via private message. I would like to escalate your situation to a Case Manager which will provide the dealership and yourself with an individual who will review your concern, then assist you and the dealership in exhausting all available resources to have the concern addressed and resolved.

Hi @wagonmaster - Would you mind sending me a PM with your VIN, mileage, contact info, and dealer name? I would like to get a case escalated so a specialist can work alongside your dealer on this!

Hi Mark,
Why hasn’t Dodge resolved the cam and lifter problems with the hemi engine? Engine should last longer than 65k in miles.
And exhaust manifold bolts breaking even on the newer trucks.

Same thing happened to me. Over on Warranty. Dodge needs to Recall this Product. This is now my 2nd Dodge truck to have had this problem. Absolutely ridiculous.

This is clearly an issue on 2018 models. My 2018 Ram Limited is having the same delaminating issue as everybody else. I have just read dozens of these complaints online, with no evidence of resolution. How many cases are necessary for Dodge to do something?

oh man, can I get help with too by any chance? It’s been awful this past year and the truck is narrowly not enjoyable with how much the screen flips out and does it’s own thing… it’s getting to the point where it feels unsafe.

This is the response I received from Ram on my issue. Looks like they really care about their customers. The vehicle mileage has nothing to do with the screen delamination! The truck is a 2018 model.

Dear, Mr. Crawford

Thank you for allowing Ram to assist with your current car care needs, After looking into the vehicle info customer was informed that at this time due to time and mileage on the vehicle, we wont be able to assist with repair cost to vehicle.

Thank you,
Ram

I was just fixing to ask if anyone had any luck with them helping or doing anything about this and saw this so I guess my question is answered. Thank you for posting they aren't going to do anything to help and saving me the trouble of even reaching out to them.

I had the same problem. We’re getting ready to take our trip across the US on the morning of May 19 and I plugged in my phone and my radio went crazy it started dialing everybody in my contact list. Now the air conditioning changes heater changes temperature changes calling SOS all kinds of crazy stuff had to unpaired the phone and it finally freezes at a certain point and if you touch anything or plug the phone and it will start all over again call the dealership 3 to 3 to 4 weeks wait for parts can’t get it fixed on the road. I just hope I don’t need to call N SOS.

Anyone seeing this on newer models or just 2018's? This has me concerned about my 2020 Bighorn I just bought this past December.

I can certainly look into your specific vehicle, warranty, and situation, so that we can best assist you. If you're currently working with a dealer to get this addressed and are experiencing concerns, please do not hesitate to send our team a private message so we can investigate further.

Thanks,

Courtney

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 Longhorn and it’s a serious problem. It started out of nowhere and now you can’t do anything. It will make calls, jump from program to program, change the air temp. It’s horrible, and of course it’s out of warranty now. I’mso frustrated with this it’s ridiculous. The truck of my dreams is beginning to turn into a nightmare.

Hey Keina,

I'm extremely sorry to hear about the experience you've been having with your Uconnect system recently. Your dealer may be willing to work with you on this once they perform a proper diagnosis and consider all of the necessary information. I kindly recommend setting up an appointment with your dealer to get this addressed. If you'd like our additional support throughout the repair process, please feel free to follow back up once you have a scheduled appointment! Let me know if you have questions.
