I too literally just noticed today on my 2018 RAM 1500 Harvest edition. I currently live in the Tampa Bay region of Florida. I have 43,120 miles. Been in Florida for 2 years and moved from Las Vegas where I originally purchased it. I am wondering if the humidity is an issue to consider. Does RAMCares have any corrective actions posted or can they reccomend dealership repairs.

Hey everyone, I am new here but I am experiencing the same problem on my 2018 Ram 1500 Sport. The interesting thing is my radio asked me about setting the time…but that message came up before my screen started showing signs of damage. I live in Arkansas, but I park my truck under the trees at work to keep it out of the sun. The truck is in the sun two days out of the week. Has anyone heard of Dodge repairing the screen even if the warranty has run out by 8,000 mile? Thank you to any and all that can help. And RamCares….you seem to be the one who is truly trying to help….thank you for all you have done for the previous owners that you’ve helped resolve this problem that seems to be plaguing Ram/Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep.

Hey there, Courtney. I shot you all a PM last week and haven't gotten a reply back on this issue. Local dealer here is doing a "diagnosis" on it tomorrow at 11 EST so it would be great to have you all be a part of this process.

I didn’t have luck with them responding on here so I just went right to ram cares website and opened a case through their chat feature.

Good to know and I guess I’ll be doing the same. Silly for them to comment here asking for PMs to help customers and then never respond to those who message.

I will let you know that ram cares did open a case but said they can’t do anything until the dealership diagnosis it and then I have to submit the paper to ram cares.

I’m actually at the dealer now with them looking at it. So I’ll have the paperwork for them. Did you make a Ram Cares account and then open up a case through their chat?

Yeah. They gave me a case number but said it won’t be assigned to anyone until I send in the papers.
Let me know what your dealer says

Hi there,

We're part of the Social Engagement Team, which is a department under customer care experience at Stellantis. We consistently monitor various social media sites as a way to identify trends in the topics surrounding your conversations and reach out in the case that anyone needs additional support. Unfortunately something happened with the Ram forums and your inquiries were not pulled through, into our system. However, we came across this thread and are doing our best to get back to all of you!

Although we do not handle inquiries via telephone or chat, we do have the ability to escalate cases on behalf of our customers so that they you're assigned a specialist to work alongside your dealer visit; ensuring that their situation receives the proper level of attention. If there's ever a lack of communication, we can personally reach out to your Case Specialist to bridge that communication gap. Our sincerest apologies for the delay but we just responded to your private message @Vipes.

Again, we appreciate your patience as we work on addressing inquiries in the order they are received and are working diligently to get back to the rest of you.

Thanks,

Courtney

I'm currently in the same boat, and I'm near Dallas, TX.
2018 1500 Bighorn, 64,000 miles.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed a bubble no larger than a dime on the upper left hand corner of the screen. Now there are two bubbles along the top of the screen and are only getting bigger by the day. I contacted the dealership, they immediately knew what I was talking about, and said this was a very common problem. They said that I would need a completely new radio and have to pay out of pocket... shocker. The service center told me to call FCA and said they might help.

I called FCA, and they also immediately knew what I was talking about. Predictably, because I'm currently out of warranty and there are no recalls, I'm out of luck. They didn't even need a dealership diagnosis. That is how common this problem has become, and FCA openly acknowledges that this is a common problem. I'm getting penalized because my screen lasted longer that others... ironic.

I plan on sending a DM to Ram Cares and hope something changes. However, after reading previous posts, it seems like I shouldn't expect anything to change. Who knew that exposing adhesives to high temperatures could possibly be a concern?

I definitely would have reconsidered my purchase had I known about this beforehand. I guess that's my fault though; expecting an expensive product to work without problems is something only an idiot like me should expect, right?

I'll send updates if anything changes.

What can i say… i know how dealers “take care” about customers in russia and belarus, i didnt expect it happens to US customers also. It’s clearly production problem and supposed to be fixed for free.

You’ll just have to look around on YouTube, on Amazon and possibly even eBay. There’s a video on YouTube where a guy went to Amazon and bought a replacement screen and has a very good instructional video on how he took his radio apart and replaced the screen.

Looking at options and going to the dealer seems pretty much arm and leg to get it fixed. $800 for a refurbished system or $1500 for a new system.

Currently have inquires out to replace the screen.
I will also take a look at the YouTube video.

Just think it s almost mind blowing that dodge won’t cover this kind of “oops” for the amount people are spending on truck today. This has really become my only buyers remorse for a dodge vehicle and I have had two Ram trucks, a caravan and a Dodge Viper.

Yeah, it is. Since there’s such a large issue regarding this, they really oughta extend the warranty on that being that it’s not just a simple radio you can replace from Walmart or something similar.

New member here 2018 laramie in Dallas, Texas with the same Issues as all others have experienced. Mine is across the whole middle of the screen and it’s completely useless now. Any phone calls made it ends the call, randomly call SOS and has multiple times. Radio scrolls all day long, Apple car play scrolls all day long. Can’t use backup cameras or cargo cam.

I can’t even turn the screen off as it ghost touches it back on. I have been to the dealership twice addressing this problem. When it first started and now it has got this bad.

I am at a loss. Dealership has never been helpful and told me that I would need to spend $1300.00 to fix it. Based on this thread I believe there should be a larger repair or recall. It’s not just rams, it’s Durangos. I believe a recall exist for Chrysler Pacifica if not a few other sister makers.

I will be reaching out to Ram Cares because it’s becoming a problem emergency wise to continue calling for help.

I am having the same issue with my 2018 Chrysler 300. It was under bumper to bumper when the screen started to bubble but the ghost touches started after the extended warranty ended.
