I have a 2018 Ram 1500 Lone Star with 49K miles on it and I’m having the same issue. I live in Houston, Tx so I’m sure that doesn’t help. Mines gotten so bad that it messes with me listening to my Bluetooth audio or CarPlay because it presses random buttons. Went to the dealership and they said it wasn’t covered under my warranty and want over $1,000 to replace. This seems to be a manufacture defect that Ram needs to address.
Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

Here's a good picture of what's going on- like rings in a tree, it grows a little bit everyday. Repair is scheduled to tomorrow. I'm really hoping I don't get a remanufactured unit.

I got my RAM 1500 Sport Night Edition back from the dealer yesterday, and the repair looks good. The service agent told me it was a brand new unit, not a remanufactured one, but a version or two newer, and it shows- the screen appears to be a slightly higher resolution, or at least a much higher contrast ratio. The text is thinner, but brighter and clearer, it responds faster to inputs, and even the radio sounds better.

The other funny thing I noticed is that the font on the new screen now matches the font on the instrument panel screen (it didn't before), which is great, but now the instrument panel screen looks fuzzy and out of focus compared to the new infotainment screen.

Thanks Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM for the great repair, and thanks Axiom Warranty Company for finally agreeing that this wasn't just a cosmetic thing!

Best of luck to everyone else having this issue!

- I have a 2018 Ram 2500 Laramie with 38000 miles. My radio unit screen is bubbling/delaminating on the top left corner and is almost at the top right corner. I cannot believe this is happening so early n in the trucks life. How can this issue be resolved? The dealership told me I am out of warranty and out of luck. 2 year old truck and just over 2000 miles out of warranty, and I am left with a radio unit that is an eye sore when people sit in my truck? Very disappointing and unacceptable.

Same! 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn - 39K miles -I told the dealership about it with just at 1000 miles over the warranty - they said they couldn't do anything but replace the radio for $1200 and only 2 year warranty on the replacement. Why would anyone pay an extra $1200 just to be back in 2 years to have it fixed again? I lived in Houston for about 1 year with the Ram and now in Austin, so yes hot in both places, but I noticed it bubbling around April or May = not so hot temps back then. Now it is a totally un-useable radio b/c the screen selects random things every second- I can't even turn the screen off b/c it turns back on. I also had an issue to where CarPlay volume (for everything - music, notifications, phone calls) was either at 0=off or 1=loudest volume. I almost wrecked it was so loud. Luckily that has not happened again. I thought it might have been a phone issue but seeing the random screen touches now makes me think the screen is the culprit to all the issues.

I know there are ways to replace, fix the issue myself, but on a 2.5 year old truck is unacceptable. I reached out to Ram through their MOPAR app, they said there was nothing they could do. I called customer service and now I have to schedule an appointment with a local dealership, and they will diagnose the issue and then will see what can be done - I can tell you that they need to replace it for free. If Ram can't eat this expense, then I don't ever want to deal with this quality customer service/ experience.
For what it's worth I let everyone with RAM know that I communicate with that this seems to be a pretty big issue in forums. Surprised they haven't admitted it's a recall item yet.

So to follow up on my earlier posts, Last Friday I was scheduled at 9:30 to have the radio replaced. I was on the road by 10:20 with new radio in the truck and everything transferred. I am assuming they clone the old radio during swap. The part number on the invoice is a discontinued part number so like everyone else is saying they are all going to be remanufactured. My truck was an 18 model with 52k miles and I did not pay a dime for my repair nor did I have any extended warranty. I just followed the advice of ramcares through this forum and they got me forwarded to a uconnect specialist with chrysler. They called me and kept me in the loop the whole time.

‘18 Ram Rebel with 30,xxx miles and the screen started delam from the top middle, right above the clock. Have an appointment tomorrow to drop off the truck to get it looked at. How do we get in contact with a ramcare specialist so these problems are being tracked!?! This should be a recall for these defective units! Thanks!

I am having the same exact issue and am very concerned that this is even a thing. Already have a case manager and there isn’t much they are willing to do unfortunately. Is there any further recourse with this issue? Thank you

After speaking with Ram customer care, they advised me to take it to the dealer for diagnosis. Dealer confirmed screen delaminating but said there was nothing they could do about it since it was out of warranty. They quoted me $1200 or so to replace. I contacted Ram customer care again and they started a case. They contacted dealer to confirm diagnosis and are covering the full cost of replacement. I have an appointment scheduled in 2 weeks for replacement.

They are replacing mine a second time. The re-manufactured unit has a loose plug on the back so my USB hub drops in and out and Android auto drops in and out as a result.

2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn, 57XXX miles and no longer in warranty, the screen delamination started in the upper left corner and is now starting to appear on the right corner. Took it into the dealership, they quoted a screen swap part for $780 plus whatever labor necessary.
I've sent a PM to ramcares to see if they can help, just waiting to hear back from them.
