well, i'm typing this from my work computer. I should have been home an hour ago. It about 5 degrees here, so I though I would try to start my truck from the app on my phone. Well, it received the start command, but it did not start. It locked. So, i figure, no problem, i'll just send the unlock command. Now, no command will go through. Tried about 5 times. So i call uconnect. Since this service is so new, they no idea how to fix it. They can't unlock it from there end either. So they are sending somebody out to open up the truck, the will be here a half hour. So I will get home about 2 hours late. Lucky for me I was at work, where I could go back inside and be warm. If this happend somewhere where I had to walk or something, or to someone who had a child with them, this would be a big problem.

Basically, had I never downloaded this stupid app on my phone, I would be home right now.

No wonder its free, it doesn't even work.

Good to know ... hopefully the bugs get worked out soon. I have the Directed SmartStart on my '00 Ram and it works flawlessly (especially now that I switched from a BlackBerry to an iPhone...odd).

Key fob got locked in the truck when i sent the remote start command. which should have been no problem, because I should have been able to send the unlock command. But after it locked the doors, no other commands would work. Not from my phone, or computer, and customer service could not get it to accept the command either.

I have been starting my truck using the app for about a week and half and haven't had any issues. I have not however used the app to unlock the doors. I wonder if it wouldn't unlock because the key fob was in the truck? Is shouldn't matter but just a though.

I love my truck it the one thing I miss from my Ford was the keypad on the outside of the door.

Thats why I like the convenience package, If the fob is in the truck it won't lock. Sensor seems to be in the drivers, and passengers doors.

Uconnect works fine for me. (sometimes it takes awhile when the truck is sitting) I can start, unlock, lock etc...If you cancel your remote start twice, the system will no longer allow remote start until you reset by inserting the fob, or hitting the start button. But the doors will lock. I hate to say this buy while testing things out, its on you that you left the key in the truck.

Yes Uconnect is still new and there isn't much support available yet, but I am glad to have it now instead of it coming out on the 2014.

I agree - Mine works fine - but the Suport is in the toilet. They can't even tell you how much it will cost after the trial runs out the first year.

Well if you think convenience package will prevent this your wrong. I hav convenience package. I too have been using the app since I got the truck.

Try this. Leave your key in your truck. Then start your truck with he app. When it starts, the doors will also lock. Which usually isn't a problem. I just use the app to unlock the door. But it didn't work today. And support couldn't get it to work either.

I will not use it again unless I have the key in my pocket.

that is true, but I cant lock the key fob in the truck when hitting the button on the door handle. Sucks what happened to you. Im surprised the truck wouldn't unlock from the phone when this happened. Did you try remote stop then unlock?

They ended up sending a locksmith.

I often leave my keys in my truck, when in my garage, because, well, its in my garage. And at work, because my truck is 20 ft. away and I can see it out the window. Never had a problem.

I just tried the app out again, truck started fine. I have my keys on my desk today though, because whenever it starts the truck, it also locks it. Now that I know support sucks and can't do anything if it doesn't work.

I don't have an answer for what happened, but if I may, I do have a question.
While not being able to unlock the vehicle, was the retained accessory power on? Meaning, was the vehicle powered up on the interior? I have seen on some older vehicles where the DLs were inop while in a RS mode. The DLs had to be unlocked using the key fob. I'm not saying that is the same with your vehicle. Just curious if it may be a similar thing.

Mine app on my phone just keeps saying "Internet connection required" even though my phone IS on wifi.
