Recently bought a 98 Ram 1500 and Have a hole in the tailpipe ( small but enough where I can hear it and it will drive me insane very soon if not changed! ).

Talked to a local shop here ( Too cold outside and no welder to do it myself ), and the guy is VERY well respected in the area for his custom work on trucks of all types. He is trying to get me to go with a xcelerator Muffler for the change. Anyone have any good or bad things to say about these? I have never heard of them before.

I am looking for a deep sound when on the gas. He suggested 3" pipe out with a 3.5" tip that exits in the factory spot behind the rear passenger tire.

Any input would be great on this matter. I was thinking about going with a Flowmaster or Magnaflow Muffler, but based on his rep in the area, I am almost willing to take him at his word on this one.

Saw a few YouTube vids of these mufflers, but 99% of them are bad cameras that never do the sound justice.

They never do! I would let him work his magic, there is always another muffler out there if you want to change it. And when you do, post a proper video :)

I think I might let him have at it. He told me $170 from the cat back with parts, labor, and a new 4" chrome tip.
