Talking to my mechanic yesterday, and I showed him the parts for the upcoming engine rebuild (boring cylinders .030 over), and he said since i was doing all of this, I might as well have the valves done at the machine shop.

I have a 2001 5.2L Can anyone point me towards the parts I need to purchase? The engine rebuild kit has a cam and roller lifters. This is over my head, so I'm having trouble finding info that i can understand.

p.s. I'm in central america, so I have to order parts, and my mechanic has limited English, and my spanish is limited. As long as I get the right parts, he can get the work done.

thanks

I'm not really very knowledgeable on what goes into a valve job, but I'd anticipate needing the valves (unless they will reuse your stock ones), new valve seats, valve stems, and retainers.

I know you have a language barrier with your mechanic, but he is really the one who should be able to tell you what you need.

Hopefully this helps get you in the right direction...
