oldtimer, the mods may move this post to the detail section of the forum, but......

I like 3M vinyl cleaner. If you have gotten wax on these textured surfaces, an old toothbrush will work wonders getting it all off.

After you clean these surfaces, I like to use 303 aerospace protectant. (www.303products.com)
It keeps them looking nice and deep black and not to "glossy"

good advice here for cleaning dried wax off. any APC will work, with some agitation.

i will add however, if you find you are hitting the trim when waxing, try taping it off first with masking tape. takes a couple minutes longer, but is less time than cleaning up after!

OR, you can use a non trim staining sealant and kill 2 birds with one stone.

True dat on Aerospace 303 after the cleaning as an outstanding protectant. Another good product for the cleaning task you describe is made by Duragloss.

I've been using the 303 protectant on vinyl, both inside and outside of my vehicles, boats, and motorcycles for over 20 years now.

It's the best stuff I've ever found.

You can get it at marine supply stores.

It's good on leather seats, too.

I couldn't edit my previous post to add additional info, so I made another post.

Admin should correct that.
