2017 ram 3500, ABS module and HCU was replaced under warranty, truck had only 4000 miles. Here we go again, out of warranty this time. Started intermittent first, its solid now.
Dealership next to me is the biggest rip off, last time I called for differential cover gasket, was over $150.
Would you recommend driving like this or get it fixed asap?
Some questions ...
Do you have Sirius radio subscription? Do you have navigation?
I used to get these errors pop up on my cluster and also was receiving weekly emails saying that my truck had ABS issues as well as the ESC light .... I always scanned the truck myself and never once did those error codes pop up. I used both ALFAOBD and an OBD2 scanner and nothing...
Very long story short, there are false positives that unconnect appears to generate on our trucks to get them in for frivolous repairs ... I know of a tech that works at a chrysler jeep and he himself said that the false positives are being generated and there is nothing wrong with the vehicles ..
I only had sirius radio for the 1 year free, once my subscription ended I no longer had access to the mopar site... I tried making maintenance appointments a few times using their mopar site where it had the full vehicle health report that is only available if you have an active sirius subscription ..
After noticing how many of these emails that my vehicle needed to be brought in immediately for service were being sent to me I called the dealership and of of the managers there said there was no record of any of those messages being sent to my truck or my email lol ..
Since that day I no longer receive these warnings .... but I also don't have the health report that my truck was getting weekly lol ..The manager said it was weird that I was getting these messages anyways because I no longer had sirius radio ... but after that day I no longer have the health report page on their website ..
I believe the tech I know that these are just BS warnings to get us to take our trucks to the dealerships so they can just make money off of us .....
What scanner did you use ? ...
If it's a legit code "YOU" got with a scanner then I would check the ABS connections ... when they lifted my truck I did get that warning a few times and the code as well ... it ended up being that one of the sensors was lose and had some corrosion on the connections ... added some dielectric grease and secured the connections ...
