Its seems it leaks in the driverside rear of the cab. It drips off the headliner onto the back seat and fills the area under the seats.

Most of the time we dont see the actual leak. We just notice moisture in the cab of the truck.

We have been taking it to the dealer when it looks like rain clouds are forming in the truck since its closed up tight.

All the moisture really had done a number to the appearance of the interior!
could be the antenna, roof seam, or the rear draintube

Hi all, new to the forum. I have a 17 RAM that for the past year has documented proof of 10 leaks at the passenger A pillar grab handle and 3 at the driver's rear passenger pillar. I have had the truck to the dealership 5 times this year just for the leak alone. They replaced the sunroof and I am still getting leaks. I had a case manager with FCA for many months and then once leak 10 occurred I said I was done and pursued arbitration (during the arbitration process 3 more leaks occurred). That was the biggest waste of my time. I had a 30 page report, plus all of the service records, videos of the leak as well as documentation of all the times the truck didn't leak when it rained. FCA's response was that "there is no substantial impairment to use, safety or value". I've had other issues with the truck as well and with all of my facts that disprove their false and generic statement; my case was denied during arbitration.

The NCDS works for the auto companies and will side with them 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the time. With all of my evidence there is no reason why I should have lost. I was simply looking for a replacement.

I say all of us RAM owners that are having issues start a class action lawsuit against them because all they are doing is pushing us around and not solving the problem.
it's probably a roof seam undearneath the molding by the "a" pillar, or the moonroof glass is leaking and needs replaced, the other leak sounds like it a roof seam or the antenna leaking

Just out of curiousity, was the windshield seal ever checked or replaced. I have seen a report of someone that had a windshield leak but can't remember where.

I had another leak two weeks ago that caused water to drip from both rear corners of the cab. I took the truck to the dealership, with pictures, and told them that they need to get this fixed once and for all. I gave them the star # for the roof molding and asked them to look at that. The truck has been there a week so far. They can't duplicate the issue. They have tested 3rd brake light and found no issues there. I'm assuming they have checked the sunroof tubes again. I'll just have to wait and see what they say this week.

Dealership called me yesterday and said they can't duplicate and therefore were done looking at it. They said there is nothing they can do and that I need to work it out with FCA. I called and tried to get ahold of the Case Manager for my area but couldn't. Supposedly the person I talked to was going to reach out to her and have her call me. I have not heard anything yet.

5 trips to the dealership in just over a year. 15 documented leaks and no help in sight.

Hello dirtbikes987,
While I deeply regret the circumstances, I appreciate you bringing your past situations to our attention. I know it probably means little considering what you have gone through, but I do want to sincerely apologize for the concerns and associated frustration that you have had to endure during your ownership experience. This is not what any of us at Ram expect for our customers. While I can't alter what you have already experienced in the past, I would like to do my best to assist you from our level of care moving forward. If you could please provide your VIN privately, I would like to take a further look into this from our end.

Just wanted to post an update to this issue. Since the last post, I have had my truck leak multiple times again. I have had it to a second dealership 2 more times. The first time they had it for a week and could not get a leak to occur. I brought the truck home, watered it down with a hose and within 10 minutes had it leak again. I took it back to the 2nd dealership and they were able to finally find a leak. They ended up resealing the rear window, that was 4 days ago. It rained very lightly today and I decided to look at this newly sealed window and found water dripping in the cab again. I will be calling the dealership tomorrow to have them go through this thing again. So frustrating.

I just cannot understand why this problem is so prevalent. I bought a 2017 Ram 1500 Longhorn model and have just over 50k miles and less than 3 years ownership. It rained for 6 days this week and when the sun finally came out today I noticed condensation on all the windows. I immediately thought OMG I left the windows open but no they were all closed up tightly. I pulled up the rear seats and the entire back of the cab was damp. The leather seat was deformed from the dampness primarily on the passenger side. I looked for a leak but can’t find anything. Then I read this forum and I’m ready to get sick. Seriously, the third brake light leaks, or some other source!? I’m going to contact the dealer tomorrow but I’m sure they will throw it all back on me. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I am hoping for some help from the dealer but after reading this thread I am not hopeful. If there are any words of advice I would appreciate them as I have appreciated folks sharing all the good and bad stories. I hope to follow-up soon.

Mike, I feel for you. My truck has been at the dealership for 35 days straight and they are expecting another 2 weeks until I can get it back. They supposedly found that in my case the leaks are occurring at the front and rear windows. They are replacing both the front and rear glass on the truck. For me, I could see water coming in at the rear slider. Water was able to get into the lower channel and it followed it into the cab behind the rear passenger seat. With very little rain you could see it dripping behind the rear seat and onto the floor. That doesn't explain water dripping from the ceiling in the rear though. Definitely call RAM and get a case going or contact ramcares on this forum for help. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks. I’m seeing the dealer Tuesday after Memorial Day. I am hoping that the problem is not complicated and they can identify the leak easily but reading through these posts, doesn’t give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I’ll certainly follow up. It simply amazes me that something like this gets by quality control at a major auto manufacturer. This is not a one off problem either. Really hoping someone at the dealership or Ram Cares can restore some confidence in the brand for me.

I deeply regret to hear that you are also dealing with this, @Rangermike. Please know that I would be more than happy to get a case escalated on your behalf so that a specialist can work alongside your dealer on this. We are just a private message away to get the process started.

Thanks. PM sent as well as the vehicle info and dealer seeing the vehicle. Similar to Dirtbikes987 I am seeing water coming in at the rear interior roof line just inside the gap where headliner meets rear cab wall and dripping down the leather seats. The truck is parked on a slope leaning to the passenger side rear which is where the drip is coming in. The headliner looks clean still with no water sign. Just cannot figure where entry is at.

We have a water leak in the cab of our Crew Cab that the dealer has tried to fix over 4 times now over the past 16 months of ownership. The constant moisture being trapped in the truck has caused a lot of rust and corrosion to develop all over the cab. We are now starting to get a few weird electrical issues. We are very concerned this is going to caused quite a few problems in the future when we no longer have our bumper to bumper warranty coverage. The truck has just over 10k on it.

I attached a few images of the under dash area, under seat area and back seat. We have found additional rust on the can roof areas as well.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix or remedy theses problems?
Sorry this may be a tad to late, but i have the similar issue with water in the back seat area of my 2017 ram. What i found after ripping out the back seat and the insulation there are 2 black square flapper vents and they are loosely fitted between the cab and the bed of the truck, they leak so bad that i have water ponding in the back wells, I sealed them in with silicone and now have no more water leakage and got rid of the musty smell that it was causing. Hope this may help your leak issue.

I’m having the same issue in my 17
Yesterday’s hard rain is the first time I actually say pooling of water in my compartment on the passengers side

2016 Ram 1500 Express Quad cab-I found a massive puddle of water under my rear seat on the passenger side. (My truck is parked on a driveway that is on a moderate slope) I ordered a rear window from safelight, and the guy pulled up and asked me if I had a Phillips head screwdriver. I tightened the 3rd brake light (middle center of back window). The screws were very loose. He canceled my order. Lord knows how long that’s been going on. I only drive my truck on a rare occasion. I applied silicone as a insurance policy because the foam padding seems thin and I can’t believe that would hold out rain water anyway. I went out and checked the truck after a hurricane passed over and the area under the seats is dry as a bone.
I now noticed as temps are getting cooler now, I have condensation forming inside my windows. Now I suspect it’s the cheesy thin foam on the inside corners of both front doors. The bolts holding the side view mirror are both terribly rusted. I see evidence of a water leak there now. It looks like a rain guard would come down far enough to help.
i guess I’ll just have to add a garage to my house. I’m very surprised in this poor design by Ram. I always wanted a truck and could never afford one. Now I can afford one and wish I wouldn’t have gone with a Ram. Very disappointing...
