I regularly hit the boundary waters. I picked up a ditty bag sized waterproof pouch and threaded a carabiner to it to lock it to my util pack. Holds the car keys and the emergency supplies (that need to be kept dry. been dunked a few times and has never failed me.

mine's not this one, but it's pretty close. Sea to summit is great stuff

buddy has a similar setup for his cell phone, and he packs it into his sleeping bag pack for impact resistance

Thanks!! I was having a brain farther when I was google searching. I kept looking for a "dodge ram waterproof fob case" and nothing would come up. Search "key fob case" and the sky's the limit lol.... sometimes I over think things

I use a similar bag for my phone and keys. It's made to roll air out of it, I do the opposite though, I make sure there is air in it. Then if it goes overboard my keys and phone are floating and protected.

cram a chunk of latex foam in the case. does double duty then. still compressed, shock absorption, and still floats. Use it with my SLR gear. if it can float that monster, then keys are nothing!
