Purchased some WeatherTech No Drill Mud Flaps from AutoAnything and put them on today. Install was about as easy as it gets...About 20min for all 4. I HATE mud flaps but I live on a dirt road and my paint was already getting sand blasted by the sand. They don't look as bad as I thought they would. :smileup:Figured I'd throw up a few pics as I didn't see many during my search before buying them. Crappy cell pics, but better than nothing.

I originally had the Ram aftermarket mud flaps on my 1500 Limited. But then I decided I wanted to add fender flares so those would no longer work. I put a set of Bushwacker OE-style flares on my truck, and then bought the Weather Tech mud flaps that fit 1500's with factory flares.

The Weather Tech mud flaps fit just fine with this combination. All I had to do was drill one hole in each of the front flares where the Bushwacker design simply covered up a factory screw. I used the mud flap as a guide where to drill the hole. Once that was done, all the flaps bolted right in and look about as factory appearing as anything could be. I'm happy so far with them.

Those look good, they almost just blend right into the tires. I have the same truck but quad cab. I am thinking about getting a set now. I have a 1/4 mile of crappy paved but muddy road to get into work and with the wet weather my truck has crap sprayed all the way up the front doors. Do you remove the spats to put those on?

I dont wanna rain on your parade, BUT, even with mud flaps, you`ll still get crap on the doors no matter what. Nature of the beast... the fenders and the body panels stick out and catch everything. The tires even stick out a ways on these 4th gen trucks and flings everything down the sides of the truck body. I have the husky brand mud flaps and are a touch wider than the weather tech flaps, and they STILL let the crap fly up onto my truck. I`m not sayin it wont help some, but dont get to excited and think it will do much in keeping your truck clean either. The flap`s will only protect a little tiny part of the front and rear fenders. Seal them up with silicone when you install them, that will keep the sh!t from seaping behind them. After i installed mine, i then sealed all the way around the outer edge of the flaps as well. I even covered the screws with silicone so as to keep them from rusting like my last truck did. I also went completely around the wheel wells with silicone so nothing could get into that area either.

Do you have step rails? I do and it seams most of the crap comes up in front of the step rails, they seem to do a good job of blocking further back and I figure a flap would block the area in front of the rails.

Yes you do have to remove the spats. You then use the same holes and screws that held them on. :smiley_thumbs_up: As far as them blending in. Some of that has to do with the crappy cell pics...but as I said before, they do look better than I thought they would.

Yup, i have step tubes (wheel to wheel OEM stainless w/husky mudflaps front & rear, they`re tight but just clear nicely). Yeah they do a decent job, that is until winter hits...lol. Step tubes seem to let snow and ice pile up on them, makes it a real pain in the azz, mudflaps or not. Sh!t fly`s right up on the panels and drops right on the step tubes no matter what ya do. Nature of the beast as they say...lol. Like i said earlier, mudflaps only protect the rear edge of the fenders where they are installed from getting stoned to death, thats about all they do. They dont protect the rocker panels very well either, especially about midway on back. After a couple winters, you start noticing that the rocker panels are getting stone bruises/chipped up even if you have step tubes. Most step tubes dont sit directly under the rocker panels, most sit out away from the rocker panels. Step boards are the best rocker protection, but i just dont care for the look of step-boards myself.

mud flaps

Thanks for the advice and photos. Went to their website and they show install video. Seems easy DIY. Ordered some. The factory flaps have Ram logo but hard to keep clean, like smooth finish better.

Any problem in heavy rain?

If you look at the rear flaps there is a little "bump" in the recessed groove that sticks up where the bottom curve starts. I ground that bump off and the flap follows the fender line a lot better with no gap. I forgot I did that to my 2012 Express I had too.
