As you can see I've got a 1997 Ram 1500 with the 5.2 V8 magnum in it and it makes a not so good sound sometimes. It's usually when revved in neutral or park to about 1500-2000 rpms and when its coming back down to idle it makes a sort of rattling noise, I have link to a video with the sound, it happens directly after the third rev in the video, it might be hard to catch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf9vwf70YWE

I have that rattly noise in my 98, and always blamed it on the catalytic converter heat shielding, dunno! good luck!

Mine does the same thing. I agree I figure it is a heat shield.
