Tuner controllers this summer?
I contacted the tech reps at the major tuner manufacturers...Bullydog and Superchips to find out if there were going to be any TBAs coming out in the near future. (TBA= To Be Announced). Bullydog purchased a 2011 Dodge and have their computer folks working on it, but they're not even near to a beta level product. At least they're working on it and everyone I talked to recognized the fact that there was a ready and waiting market out there standing in line for the first maufacturer who can create the golden egg. Dodge was pretty thorough on the design of the encryption algorithm and so far it's defeated the attempts of the tuner folks to crack the code.
It appears that everyone is shooting for some sort of product release during the first part of summer....IF they can crack the code. I can't believe that with the level of sophistication and acquired knowledge of even some 15 year old geek who can get into the CIA's network...that there hasn't been someone who has already broken this code.
There are instances where someone will break the code and communicate with the company and advise them....and then be "hired" as a consultant in order to keep the info from the tuner folks as well as provide them with the methodology of his hack.....otherwise known as a workaround for the unsightly word of blackmail.
