I finished greasing the front wheel bearing on my 4x4. For those not aware you take the tire off, remove the caliper, remove the rotor and pull the abs sensor out of the hub location., cleaning all the way to avoid dirt entering the wheel bearing. With a rubber tip on your grease gun, add the grease thru the hole where the sensor was. As you add grease rotate the hub to spread the grease evenly. Doing this greasing of the hub bearing will extend the life of your wheel bearings. Most wheel bearings from the factory have very little grease.

While I was at the area I cleaned and greased the brake pad slides, which were seized in their slots. They move nice and free now.

Took him for a 15 minute drive in the rain. I call it my "#Ramfix", my daily dose of driving my truck. It takes about 2 hours to then wipe the smile off my face 😁.

In the past week, I've stuck the toll tag to the windscreen, adjusted the headlights, dropped the tyre pressure to 32 PSI, installed a tray in the centre console and picked up 4 bags of mulch which is still sitting under the tonneau cover ;). Now I'm just waiting on my blind spot mirrors to arrive.

And with the truck sitting in my driveway in plain sight, I can't stop myself from using the remote start whenever I feel like it, just to hear the engine rumbling to life. Oh, I love my truck.

Well I ordered new LEDs for the dash and Heater controls as half of of the bulbs were out. I tore the dash apart got the new stereo installed. (a Pioneer AVH-3500NEX)
New LEDs showed up. Guess what they are not the T10 or the T5 and Amazon said. They all are the T4.7 neo wedge. So had to do a return and order the right ones. Well at lest the gauge cluster LEDs will be here tomorrow. Thanks Amazon.

First off, I apologize if there is already a thread for this. I looked and used the search function and did not see one.

I'll start off:

I changed the oil and went to synthetic, changed the transfer case fluid, killed the door chime and sealed the LED 3rd brake light the previous owner neglected to. Last night, I installed my old 12's under the back seat.
Tried the 4x4 out today in the Yard, sad that the ram outdoorsman is this low. Scraped and pulled up an unknown concrete metal post. Upon inspection, noticed that the cross member was bent.??????? Ram really needs to come up with something better than this

Had a misfire on a couple cylinders. Ended up being coils so changed out all 16 plugs with new iridiums and all the coils with oem. What a pita but doable. Runs awesome again. Dealer wanted $500 to change just the bad coils and 4 plugs.

I worked on my feed line for the rear brakes. I had remove the bracket and use my grinder with wire wheel to remove a ton of caked on rust. This is the final section of replacing every brake line on the truck. ABS sure makes for a lot of brake lines.

What did the parts cost you by doing your self?

Been a long while since I posted here. I tried to "de-clad" my 2017 Big Horn wheels yesterday. I had purchased matte black covers to go back on them. Well lets just say it did not go as planned. It turns out I have completely different wheels under the cladding. The cladding was filled and adhered with a type of expanding foam. All 4 wheels are like this. The new skins no longer fit the them. Any one else ever run into this?

Changed the oil yesterday; still restricted to 60 miles from the base so I've been doing more in town driving and cut my interval to 4000 miles instead of 5000. Everyone was out of my beloved Fram XG2 filters so I went with a Mopar MO-899.

Also replaced a rusted exhaust clamp with a band clamp style one and fixed an exhaust rattle that had developed.

Dealing with a travel restriction myself, so cant go past Anza Borrego, however I've found some things to get myself occupied with. Final stages of installing my Alpine amp to go with the door speakers. Probably overspec'd the wiring a bit going from the HU to the amp, but I also didn't want to have any signal delivery issues.

I used 16g everywhere and just patched into the harness at the back of the radio for both in and out. AlphaOBD uncovers some settings in the radio unit that look like they turn off its broken speaker detection, but doesn't seem to actually do it, so if you straight connect the uConnect to an amp's speaker level inputs its going to assume the channels are open and cut off the sound.

Just waiting for the electronics places to open up tomorrow so I can get my load resistors to make the radio work with the amp. I'm using the unused load resistors from my LED mod to make things work enough to test. 6Ohm 55w resistors still heat up appreciably from the 15w stereo output! So far so good!
