Just curious, I have a friend with a truck the same age as mine (nearly to the day) and when he opens a door he gets a big picture of the truck and when I do I just get the little red icon.

I thought he may have a newer version of the software but I have since gotten the newest one and mine did not change.

Just got me wondering who has what?

Mine was built at the end of June 2013 and it displays a top view of a truck. Open doors are indicated on the display.

Depends on the state of the truck. If you open a door with the engine off/key out it displays the little red icon (and odometer). If the truck is running and in park, opening a door shows the large overhead view in addition to the red icon. Have not tried opening a door with it in gear. This is with 8.4A

Mine shows the over head view and shows which door is open. Mine was made in May 2013 it also a bighorn edition. I notice you have and outdoorsman. That could be the difference between the trucks if your friends is a different edition

If I am in park, it displays the truck with the door open. If I drive the truck without first closing the door the EVIC display message goes to:

VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK

and it won't change until the door is closed.

I wish I could change the color of the pic of the truck. The pic is a silver truck and mine is black.

So it sounds like kind of a mix. To reiterate all I ever see is the little red truck in gear or park. I think the only time I see a picture of a truck is the park sense in reverse!

That's what happens when you try an respond using a tablet, tethered through your cell phone in a crappy service area (serious lag) That and a lack of proof reading before hitting send.
