can anyone tell me what the black piece that goes along the front of your engine compartment. it basically buttons into your frame and you have to remove it to get to the screws that hold your grill in. Any information would help a bunch. i tried to attach a picture but it wouldnt show up.

It is a plastic guard to direct air into the rad. I have mine off with the aftermarket grill and haven't noticed any difference in performance. And one could argue it also makes the engine compartment better looking.

it is also a radiator dust cover

I built a bug & debris catcher that is hidden under my dust cover

the dust cover is sitting just to the left in this pix

bug catcher installed, the dust cover fits right over it

Alternative dust cover, sure is bright
