I first posted this thread on 3/22/2012 and I saw a small number of views and only 1 post from 345Cube which leads me to think I started my thread wrong. So I am reposting the same questions under a new thread.
Hi All my first post and my first Dodge Ram.
I have just taken delivery of a 2012 1500ST Ram. I found the hole buying experience a bit challenging. OK so; 1500ST Quad Cab 4X4, with a 5.7 Hemi, MDS VVT 65RFE Tranny and a 3.92 Rear Axle Anti Spin Differential what is the maximum rated towing capacity from the manufacture? My Guess is 10,050.
Next being that it is aRam 1500 “ST” the transfer case is a NVG243 right? If that is true, and knowing that a BW44-44 Case has a 2.64:1 reduction ratio in 4X4 low, what is the ratio of the NVG243 in that same mode.
Quick note: I am 65 years old and have towed my Boston Whaler around for the past 40 years. I have owned Ford, Chevy, Nissans and now Dodge. I am looking forward to the experience of owning a Dodge and sharing it with you Guys and Gals.
Thanks RayB
