At 50-60, secondary roads 20.5-21.2 mpg. At 70, hilly highway 17.5-19 mpg. Around town and local 25 mph to 45 mph, 14.1-16.5 mpg. 4x4 crew with tonneau. 3.55.

All drops when the temp is below 35.

Best so far (only 1780 miles on the truck) is 19.4mpg over a 6 hour round trip going 68mph. Of course this is on Wisconsin roads/constant hills.

My '09 gets 17.4 highway, flatland, no wind
i do have 1/2 ton in the bed all the time
anyone else with a HEMI & a empty bed should be able to beat that
I now have over 97,000 miles on my Ram

So far the results are rather surprising. I was looking for at least a few that were in the 24-25 plus range.

I made 1200 mile round trip to Pensacola Fl back in July and my trip average was 18.2 and I cruised about 80 mph with myself and the girlfriend plus luggage and a cooler of miller lite ;) but general driving only get about 16.7 mpg this is better than my 2010 Chevy 5.3 pos that would get only 15 on a good day. I have a 4x4 ram quad cab with the hemi 20" wheels.

i voted for the 24-25 mpg range as that was about my best achievement...

i just copied this from a thread i posted last week... here's my result...

The details:
99.9% hwy miles
87 octane fuel w/10% ethanol
light tail wind out of the south
Between 52-54 degrees outside temp
mostly flat road with a few small to medium hills
elevation between 750'-950' above sea level
cruise set at 60 mph
from full (automatic pump shut off) drove 131 miles and took back on 5.2 gallons (automatic pump shut off)
Truck EVIC calculated 24.1 with hand calculation of 25.2.
granted I was only doing 60 mph but I wanted to see what I could achieve at this speed. Overall pretty happy with the results.

should add: 5.7, crew cab, 4x4, 3.55 rear, 6 speed

I just re-read the question and realized I answered incorrectly. I used my truck's lifetime MPG instead of its best MPG. Of course, to be really technical it's best MPG is well over 100 mpg when I'm at freeway speeds and then take my foot off the gas. Doesn't last long, though...

Took trip from Maryland to Michigan... pulled into destination in Michigan with 22.1 showing on the dash, on the trip back to Maryland pulled into the driveway with 23.1 showing.

Putting around town... I'm averaging 16 mpg

2013 Reg Cab Sport with 3:55 gear.

Maybe I misinterpreted this, I answered 12-13 as that is the best average I get per tank. I have no idea how anyone gets over 20 in one of these trucks. I have tried like hell on a couple of road trips and never averaged over 18 and change and even that was next to impossible with favorable conditions.

I put in a vote for my dad's '09 Hemi 5 speed since the transmission is the same. The best he ever got was 21.5 on a trip to Oklahoma City, but I got 22.7 out of his truck on a similar trip. both trips were made unloaded with 1 driver and 2 passengers.

After only 900 miles on it right now I'm averaging 14-15. I live 3 blocks from work so that's killing it. On the highway(which isn't much at all) I can easily get 19-21 at 70mph. Hitting stop signs is the killer on gas mileage. I also use premium which might help a little on mpg. Better fuel equals a better running engine.

Up here in the Greatest Country {CANADA} we all get 20 +++ MPG
I average around 14L/100km....which is around 20 mpg Canadian. while driving back and forth to work 100k per day at speeds between 80kph and 110kph. [100kph is 62 mph]

4.55L in a Canadian gallon....

I live 3 miles from work and average 15 minutes to go those 3 miles so my mileage pretty much is the worst possible at 15. I only have 2,000 miles on the rig so it probably has some more breaking in to do. The few times I have taken it on the freeway I see around 20.

What the hell am I doing wrong. I set cruise at 76mph and I can't get over 15MPG. I love everything about this truck except I can't get better fuel mileage than my 05 Silvy 5.3 and it had 35" tires. I drive conservative, I haven't roasted the tires since the test drive.

On a trip to OBX I managed to get my average up to 19.3 @ about 65 on the hwy pulling a 1500 lb trailer....needless to say, I was wasn't happy that I got there before I could get her up to 20 :) Either way, I was very pleased considering I have the 3.92 gears too
