just the other day i replaced the wheel bearing on the driver side of my 1996 dodge ram 1500 sport. took me a few hours mainly because i could not find the correct socket...36 mm was too small and could not get my hands on a 38 mm socket at ALL. so after hours of calling around and driving around i got my hands on a 1 11/16 socket witch was the correct size. got the job done but was wondering if anyone else knew what size is on there truck...just trying to find out if someone replaced them with other ones or if thats factory.

It's a 1-11/16 socket. They never changed that to metric.

didnt know this...and oriellys has it in there computer wrong lol....they have it as a 38 but they cant get there hands on anything bigger than a 36mm in either metric or standard but i got some 35s and im waiting on money for rims then its the other wheel bearing

Just an FYI: The 38mm is the metric equivalent to a standard (SAE) 1 11/16.

Just like the 8mm is the same as a 5/16. Etc...
