Yeh the guys at DS have to reverse engineer the PCM to create tunes and they aren't having a lot of luck doing it. Plus they got to get all the other more important customer based vehicles done first so they can make money and pay there employees. Chrysler is second fiddle to all the other brands and it's the toughest to do so if you notice every year our tunes come out last. It's been like this for years. Plus, ford and chevy basically hand their encryptions over to all these companies for a small fee... Chrysler does not...
No...not really sand bagging as much as CJD encrypts their software and haven't given over the encryption. Several rumors are swirling that CJD may enter into an exclusive agreement with one company but I find that hard to believe as it limits their revenue potential for the code and if they were gonna do that, they would have done it by now.
2011 - 2012 owners are the victim of CJD's concerns over warranty liability.
Yea i always assumed that they held back some of the tunning potential of these trucks due to the lack of ability of supporting parts (tranny mainly) to handle the power these motors will produce. I've owned and modded 2nd, 3rd, an now 4th an this always seems to be an issue with dodge trucks.
