Hello jimmymarcie,

That's interesting. Are you thinking of visiting the dealer to get this inspected? Send me a direct message if you need an additional layer of assistance.

I made an appointment. Took it in for the service and they didn't have the part. How do you take an appointment and not have the part?

Could the clicking noise be the tailgate locking or unlocking?
No, it is coming from the dash,by the steering wheel,it is the T79 recall, where the locking pin,can get stuck in the open position.where you can put the truck in gear, without pressing on the brake pedal.

Yeah, I was just thinking that a circuit got shorted or otherwise compromised somewhere that was causing the tailgate to lock/unlock every time you released the brake. Not thinking well, but thinking :)

After it was completed, did you start to hear a clicking noise when releasing the foot brake?

I had my 2009 done in Albuquerque at Melloy Dodge.. Long time great service dept. No problems of any type. Since they had to get through the steering wheel dash location, someone made a Boo Boo.

I have the same sound , and i believe it is the new locking device the dealer installed?
Only sounds when i put my foot on the brake before shifting out of park.

I just called the dealer that did the T 79 recall and asked about the clicking noise since the recall and was told that the clicking sound is normal.

When the dealership tells you that noises are normal,
that is the same as telling you that they are not going to check into it, they don't want to be bothered
They will wait until FCA sends out a TSB, RRT, or a CSN before accepting that something needs fixing

Technical Service Bulletin (TSB)

RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL (RRT)
or a
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION (CSN)

Sorry to Necro this post. I will probably create another one. I just bought a 2016 2500 and hear this exact same sound and the T79 shows as complete. Did anyone have a resolution to this? Should I be concerned. It sounds like the new one must have a massive coil or something and it is backfeeding (back emf) into the speaker nearby or something. It is super loud.
