I assume they are because they come on the higher equipped models, but why? My 2 headlight system seems to light up the street pretty well, and when I go to HIDs, it will be even better and I only will need one set. Am I missing something?

I'd love to know why Dodge pimps them as an "extra". I don't get it. I thought they were terrible and went the SilverStar route.

You, op, might be the first 4th gen owner to be happy with the stock light output. LOL, I dont have the quads and the lack of light nearly killed me on the drive home. It was raining and dark, and upstate NY (where I was at the time) does not like to paint the lines on the road with reflective paint like everywhere else in the US of A.

I have the quads on mine and love them. When you throw in the fog/driving lights also I think they are the best lights I have ever had on a vehicle. The high beams are pretty good too, but I wish there was a way to keep the lower fog/driving lights on too.

I like the hell out of my quad lights, i do a lot of driving, well away from street lights
I can see a coyote crossing the highway long before i get there
& with the fogs & low beams, i can see quite far, when traffic is coming towards me

I agree with most here that the headlights are poor on these trucks.
I have a 2011 Sport and like it except the lights.
My wife's VW has way brighter lights ( not HID ) as well as most of my previous trucks.
I'll live with them as I'm reluctant to install HIDs.
To bad they weren't an option from the factory.

I don't see what's so bad about the lights we have...I have the quads and they're just like any other lights on all the other vehicles I've driven!

Good to hear. My Laramie will have the quads I believe.

(If they are not bright enough I want the retro projectors - very pricey but want quality and I don't like HID's that scatter light when they are not housed in projectors)

I'm happy with the stock lights except in the wet. They don't seem worse than the Camry I was driving before. That being said, I would like something a little better for such a big vehicle.

Mine came equipped with the quads and I love them. Along with the fog lights, they light up dark country roads really well.

I have whatever is standard on the '11 1500 SLT and they are not super bright at all. My wife's '10 Edge is much brighter both on low and high beams. To say they are not adequate is incorrect IMO, they are just not as bright as I would have hoped. I think with a simple bulb swap the problem could be corrected.

Any recommended bulb swaps?

I'm the opposite of the previous guy, I think the high beams are fine but the low beams are pretty crappy.

I live way out in the sticks and there are little or no street lights for miles and miles. Babysitting the high beams (so I don't blind oncoming drivers) sucks. :(

Fog lights are great!

I think they are the worst lights I have even had on any vehicle, have not used the fog lights with low beams yet. Just don't see why the engineers could not beat this! Don't get me wrong I love my Ram!

OK, tonight I tried the fog lights and was impressed. On 4-lane interstate I could see over in edge of opposite lane and way over on my side, should be able to see deer much better using fog lights all the time! Is there a bulb that would make fog light any better?
