Hey I’m new to the Mopar community and I’m mapping out my first build and I currently have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 3.6L with a 45RFE and I was wondering if the 45RFE will bolt up to the 318 (79) either i have to switch the bell housing or get an adapter I have the slightest bit of clue and could use some help!

The bellhousing will bolt right up, but I do not know if there is a flex plate that will bolt to the 318LA and also the 45RFE. Motor mounts will also be a challenge trying to put an LA into that new of a truck. You might get lucky with a 5.2 or 5.9 Magnum on the motor mounts because Magnum motors used the mid mount system like the 4.7 and 5.7 in the later trucks. Good luck to you.

Wait.... I reread your post and you said you have a 3.6? Are you sure it isn't a 3.9? If it is a 3.6, I may be wrong about the bellhousing bolting up. I know a 3.9 has the same pattern as LA and Magnum engines, but have no clue about a 3.6.
