They seem to come out with an update every month or two

check out

I just did an update 2 weeks ago on my 14. I believe it came out in July. Things I noticed......cars going by while viewing the rear back up camera, image is clearer and less jerky. The 2nd thing, and this may be my imagination, but the option to have the radio volume change depending if your stopped or moving seems more sensitive now. I can actually hear the difference.

For the love of God, I hope they get the "Shuffle" button issue resolved one of these days.

That^^^^ and fix the shuffle algorithm. Doesn't play everything and seems to repeat the same tracks a lot.

Also fix the navigation VR or enable navigation controls while driving or, give me my money back and I will go buy a Garmin.

Suffle - This not a fix, just an observation.

I have a kenwood aftermarket unit and my brother in law has a new nissan both with shuffle and neither work well or the same. One can handle 500 songs per folder the other only 225. Neither play all the songs. I now shuffle the songs on the chip with the computer, then just play them all the way through.

Back when mine was new the original radio firmware you could turn the 'eco' display on or off, that disappeared long ago.

The shuffle thing is pretty annoying, on road trips I just plug in the iphone and use it's shuffle. The USB stick I have with 2000 songs always seems to play the same tracks over, plus the 'shuffle' disappearing on startup is annoying - especially since it was working a few updates ago.

They did add the ability to shut the auto dimming mirror off later down the road.

It would be great if they added DRLs like they show in the manual. I doubt that will ever happen though.

Except for the shuffle thing I'm pretty happy with how its been working since the last update, would be nice if they added more things. Who knows how long before the 8.4 gets replaced with something newer though.

Just bought a 2013 ram screw Hemi with the 8.4? Entertainment center. Had jells the last 12 years. This truck is so much quieter than my old dodges. Other than the flo masters that is. My problem is the voice command will change to satellite from radio or media and back but when I say Play Led Zepplin it says it doesn't understand me or media doesn't support that command. Huh?

Chrysler seems pretty committed to the Uconnect system, so I bet it will be around at least another 5 years. That 8.4 is available in just about every Mopar vehicle-my buddy's girlfriend has it in her Durango, you can get it in a Grand Cherokee, Charger, Dart, Challenger, etc.. and it all runs off the same software. The way I see it, we will probably all be able to upgrade to the newest software versions since the radio required to run the software probably won't really change.

I just had mine updated while it was in for service a couple weeks ago. Went from 13.06.2 :eek:ld: to 14.25.5. It gave me the ability to turn auto dimming mirrors off, and the voice recognition and call quality are both much improved. I also would very much like to see the radio stay on shuffle until I press the shuffle button again to turn it off, rather than shuffle disabling itself every time the truck is restarted as it does now.

Mineralram, I didn't know we could adjust the temperature via voice control or is that just if you have dual zone climate control?

I really like Uconnect overall. It has its faults, but as far as infotainment systems go its about the most intuitive.

What we need is a Sticky Note that everyone fills in with voice commands that they have discovered. It shouldn't take too long before the commands posted exceed the minimal list in the U-Connect reference guide. And yes the adjusting temperature via voice is a nice touch. I have the dual zone climate control so I don't know if it works on single zone or not.
