Winter tires

I just bought a 2014 ram sport, and it came with 20" tires. I just ordered 17" rims and 285/70/17 Blizzak DM-V1 for the winter. Just wondering if anyone had any experience changing the tires size, and how these tires perform in the winter.

I didn't have them on a truck, but an AWD Taurus. They were awesome in any amount of snow, and just OK on ice (but then, nothing is great on ice except maybe studs or chains). Go easy on bare roads, dry pavement will eat them up fast. As said above put them on late and take them off early, should last through a couple seasons with ease.
