I came across this need page on the ZF site describing the transmission. It's in German, but there is an English button on the top right of the page. There is also a very cool movie describing how the transmission works.

I believe the trans is the 8HP70

It is indeed the 8HP70. The Hellcat Challenger/Charger will get the 8HP90.

I was excited to learn that Ram puts these German ZF trans in the truck. Top grade tech and perf. This plus the diesel us air susp. really swayed me to look at Ram
