It should read at or just below the full mark on the stick.

Is the top mark above the safe zone full?? It goes past that a ways...

 

I would drain some out, outside the safe zone is not safe, it is overfilled. Would you add oil if it was below the safe zone?

 

I've read that oil over-fill can cause issues but I do not have any first-hand knowledge, there is a reason the dipstick has a marked high and low safe zone.

It is not uncommon for a metered oil gun to over-dispense if that is what your dealer did. Did they change your oil filter? Regardless, they should have caught this before you left.

Are you checking the oil level when the engine is cool?

Additionally, make sure your dealer put in the correct oil viscosity for your climate or you could cause engine damage per the owners' manual.

 

Before you go draining, get it to normal operating temp then check it.
