You should let your dealer have the first crack at this, running to the mother ship only builds distrust between you and the dealer. They may just need to flash the truck, it might have an updated flash available for it or the flash that is on the truck was corrupted when it was installed originally and reinstalling the program might cure the issue.
I just installed the OEM trailer brake controller in my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Laramie ecodiesel, I also have a Green Diesel Engineering engine and transmission tune installed. The OEM trailer brake controller has to be activated in the body control module so I did not load the stock ECM/Trans tunes back onto the truck. After the dealer programmed the OEM trailer brake controller into the body control module and added it to the installed equipment in the manufacture database under my trucks vin number I noticed it did not run quite as good as it did before I took it to the dealer to program the OEM trailer brake controller. It soon started throwing a service trailer brake system message, then it started throwing service electronic brake system message, trailer brake system message and it turned on the check engine light. The transmission started hunting for a gear on one occasion and finally it set off all of the above and it would not shift out of first gear after making a right hand turn.
I pulled into a parking lot and shut the truck off waited about a minute and restarted the truck, the check engine light remained on, the service trailer brake system was still showing on the EVIC display so I nursed the truck back home and I thought about when the issues started and it was after the dealer flashed the body control module so I decided to load the stock engine and transmission tunes back onto the truck and went for a short drive, no more messages and no more check engine light, that was a short 1.1 mile ride, so when I pulled back into my driveway I reinstalled the GDE engine and transmission tunes and going on 3,000 miles later I have not had one issue, the truck is back to running like it was before the dealer flashed the body control module.
My best guess is when the dealer flashed the body control module it corrupted something and that caused the truck to start throwing messages and the check engine light.
When I had my 2016 Ram 2500 4x4 6.4 Hemi I had to take it to the dealer for two different flashes under a recall, after the dealer flashed the truck I left the dealer and had to make a u-turn at the traffic light to head back home and the traction control light came on and would not turn off. I took the truck back to the dealer the next day and told the service writer the truck was in the day before for two recall flashes and maybe one of the flashes just did not install properly, the service writer got real defensive telling me that was impossible and does not happen. To make a long story should they took the truck back to the tech they refreshed the recall flashes and that cured the traction control light problem.
So there are two Rams both that had corrupted programs that just needed to be re-flashed and both trucks ran fine from that point on.
