I have a Ram 1500 Quad with a 3.6L. The Ram website says it has a towing capacity of 4600 lbs with a 3.21 rear end and 7600 lbs with a 3.55 ratio. This is a big difference! I am thinking of buying a travel trailer with a gross weight of between 6000 and 7000 lbs. I need to know how to find out the ratio I have and if I can change to a 3.55 ratio if necessary. This 3.6L V6 has great power, I would have though it was a V8 if I didn't know it was a 6!

On the left side, click on Equipment Listing and put your VIN into the field...it'll spit out what your truck came from the factory with.

There should be a tag (or sticker) hanging from the rear axle which says what the gear ratio is.
