Specialized in 4.7 upgrades

 

I have heard of this site before, but I don't see any numbers regarding hp gains. I want nice lope idle, and a good 400 hp. Would like to keep it naturally aspirated but if I can boost it for less money, maybe thats what I will do. The truck has 168000 miles on it. I would want heads and new rings for sure. But I am still unsure of what I want to do with it yet. Trying to get some ideas and a solid game plan

 

If you intend to put some real power into it then you need to rebuild it or replace it.

 

Nick at airram probably had the strongest 4.7L, but it was probably shy of 400hp. It was probably more like 350-375hp. You'd probably need boost to hit 400hp out of the earlier 4.7L.

 

Has anyone ever successfully boosted a 4.7???

 

^yes there used to be a few SC kits on the market, all discontinued. There was a member on another forum I think it was "blown287" he had a SC dakota, real nice truck.

 

If I were to boost it, I think I would rather turbo it. Any idea on turbo size?

 

^I agree. No turbo kits that I know of, and I'm certainly no expert (far from, actually) on FI, so I have no recommendation...
