I know that you didn't ask about Sirius TRAFFIC, but you might like to know that when i went to go from my FREE year of Sirius Traffic & Sirius Radio to starting to pay for it.
I went online & read what plans were available, it mentions for the satellite radio a 1 year plan & 2 year plan, ( i knew that XM has a 3 year plan & they had merged ), so i asked about it on the phone, the OUT SOURCED person didn't know what i was talking about. i requested the Manager, they didn't know anything about it either, i made some comments & i was connected to someone in the good ole USA. I immediately had a 3 year plan set up, i didn't know at that time that there is also a better priced Lifetime Plan.
Then i found out a short time later that Sirius TRAFFIC was not included :( there is a yearly charge for it also.
Then i was at the dealership & saw a notice to upgrade the MAP data, new roads, new gas stations, etc. I went to the website & found out that each time you want to update the MAP software, they charge $199 each time!!!!!!
I went to BEST BUY & bought the GARMIN NUVI for vehicles NUVI 1390LMT, it is better than what the Ram has in it & equally large screen, voice, bluetooth, points of interest, etc. It comes with LIFETIME MAPS & TRAFFIC & only costs $230 ONE TIME COST
screw the RAMS navigation prices

If u get the update it will update the radio sw and firmware, maps, poi, it will fix the iPod problems and I'm not sure about this but after i did the update my turn by turn started to show up on my display in the gauge cluster evic evac? I now have travel link but I still cannot get it to work Sirius is stupid and the dealer is sick of people complaining about travel link. Sirius tells everyone they have to have 2 esn numbers which I know for a fact is bs. Try the update u should be pretty happy with it

The first time I update mine with the downloaded update Travel Link showed up but didnt work. I called Sirius to see if there was something they had to do to get it working and the Sirius rep said I had to have 2 ESN's, which I didn't. On a whim I updated using the CD again and magically, the Travel Link started working. And I still don't have 2 ESN's listed.

i found this on a JEEP forum, hope it helps a bit

FYI...there is an update for the 430N (RHB) that enables the Travel Link (not Traffic Link) features. A CD should be arriving in the mail but there is an iso (CD image file) posted on mediafire...limpnk to the file and also the TSB with update instructions below. Of the links don't go through, just search for RHB on media fire. You can also find it on the MOFV site under the software updates links of the mygig forums. Thanks to the guys that already received their updates and posted it. Enjoy.

The Monroney Label information on about 930 of the above vehicles lists a 1-year subscription to Sirius Travel Link service. The radio in the vehicle does not have the correct software to operate the Sirius Travel Link features. A Compact Disc (CD) will reprogram the radio’s software and allow it to access the Travel Link features.

The radio must be reprogrammed using a CD disc with new Travel Link software.
All owners known to Chrysler will have a software update CD mailed to them to update their radio’s software.
NOTE: All vehicles involved in this notification will receive an additional one year subscription (beyond the original subscription termination date) to Sirius Satellite Radio and Sirius Travel Link Service free of charge.

Well i installed the update it went well however i do not have the soft key in the menu for the travel link. I called sirius and they told me the reason it does not work is because im in Canada and travel link does not work in Canada as of yet hey will be launching it around the end of August im told.

Thanks for that. I updated my headunit as well and I was scratching my head trying to find the Travel Link soft key that everyone was talking about. :4-dontknow:

I updated mine just now and there is no button for travel link on the main screen.

The NAV softkey is a new colorful icon but thats about the extent of the changes.

If I go into travel link under the menu (hardkey) it pulls up my location "raleigh/durham" but for all of the options it just says "no data available."

Is this info going to populate in the next day or so?

I imagine it wouldnt be instant since I have to pull alot of info from the satelite, but I don't understand why the softkey isn't showing up.

edit: My EVIC was displaying turn info prior to the update so that remained unchanged.

There seems to be some people that are confused about Sirius TRAVEL LINK & Sirius TRAFFIC

TRAVEL LINK is only for finding places like gas stations & prices, movie theaters, food joints, etc
http://www.siriusxm.com/travellink

TRAFFIC is used to warn you of things like accidents, construction zones, when a turn is coming up

No, I know that.

I'm saying that in the users manual for the 430N I thought it showed the travel link soft button on the main screen.

The screen that displays "AM / FM / SAT" and at the far right "NAV"

I thought a soft button would appear to the right of "SAT" for some reason.

Maybe I saw something else there.

At any rate, it has been about an hour since I updated and all of the features are working now, sports weather movies and gas. Very cool!

Does anyone know when everyone should get this update cd in the mail? I asked the service writer at the dealership where I bought the truck and he said he knew nothing about an update cd.

I went to 2 separate dealers and got the same response! Its amazing how we can find things online before the dealers even know about them! lol My dealer actually said right to my face that Traffic Link is NOT POSSIBLE on my RHB Radio and that ONLY the 730N could have it. Well, that same day I put travel link on my RHB myself but have yet to bring it back to them to prove them wrong :4-dontknow:
