I took mine off and just left the HEMI badge on the fenders and added a red 3/8 pinstripe to match the red in the HEMI emblem.

I also removed everything from the tailgate and just left the RAMS head (chrome)and added chrome RAMS head for the hitch plug

My truck is black so the red shows nicely.
I bet that looks great. Got any pictures?

I like the badging, I was considering taking off just the 1500 on the doors but I have not done it.

Removed the "1500" only. Way back when if you had a chevy Biscayne you wouldn't flaunt the bottom of the line model whereas Impalla SS could stay. So why is 1500 important? If I had a 2500 I'd probably have left it.

I think it all depends on the accent color. i.e if you have chrome bumpers and have chrome badges, then it should stay. But if you have color match bumpers and chrome badges, them either black them out or remove them.

Sometimes its cheaper to get something extra you don't want; my wife and I only have cell phones but we have a landline because its cheaper than just getting cable and internet.:4-dontknow:

I think if Ram offered a debadge option for like $50 they'd make money hand over fist
You make a good point on both counts.

Why is everyone leaving the hemi badge? Is there more than just double sided tape holding it?
I think because they are more subtle a lot of people find it to give it just the right amount of badging; its the same tape holding them on. I think they look good-I even added a Hemi badge to my rollaway.

Maybe they also don't want people thinking they drive a V6:LOL:

The blackout tape delete cost me about an hour of my time and whatever a bottle of goo gone runs
On all my other trucks, I took about an hour to remove my tape with goo-gone. With this 2016 I just bought. I literally brought it home and the tape came right off. No glue residue left behind or anything. Literally a 10 minute job!

To the OP - I also debadge my trucks. I only have a black Ram emblem on the front now and a black one on the tailgate. But like others have said - it's your truck. Do what you think looks good!

Yeah I think it gets harder to remove as it gets older. It becomes more susceptible to tearing, and mine had been on for 2.5 years having never seen a garage and gone through the Summer in South Texas

If you use the correct adhesive remover it won't matter how long the badges have been on. 3M adhesive remover is by far the best product for removing adhesive, in my opinion. I have hero have a badge removal take more than 30 minutes, and that includes waxing where they once were.

I took my badges off. I thought FCA went a little crazy with the size and amount of badging in one location. It looked too gaudy to me. I just removed from the side and left the grill and tailgate alone.

I hate the badging on the Longhorns. They're just so large and gaudy.

I think that would look good if it had Black Paint on the words Ram and edition with the chrome background. :4-dontknow:
But as it is makes it awful gaudy as Nevada Mike says.

Was considering taking badges off what are your recommendations if you did it show some pics
I also have a white sport like yours. I can't stand all the badging with the 1500 and RAM and HEMI... I think it looks ridiculous. But so far my laziness and time constraints have won out over my hatred of all that advertising. I did pull off the dealer sticker on the first day from the rear end.

I've considered pulling all of the badging and just adding back the RAM after I paint it black, if I don't like the totally stripped look. Or can I just buy black letters?

You can buy the ram logo black since there is a black out edition, but as for the rest you would have to paint our plasti dip them if you want them black.

:beerchug:

I tend to like the chrome badges. But I also prefer chrome wheels to black painted, with the exception to black trucks. Then completely debadge for a smooth look. Just my opinion. :gy:
