Hey everyone... Just joined this site although I've had my 2017 RAM for awhile now.

Got a question: The Map Data Base that I currently have is: CMCN4VP4NA;V9.

I just updated the software version to 17.43.01.

Is there a more current map than the one I have?

Looking forward to many conversations down the road!

I'm pretty sure the map database you have in your 2017 is the most recent available for our trucks. A year or so ago there was an update available for $149, a few threads came up about that, but I haven't seen anything recently about it.

About the Navigation Maps

The latest Map updates come out once a year, they will charge you at least $149 for each update

What they don't explain is that new Highways are very seldom built, so the same road map will remain the same for several years, they may add a new road inside of a newly constructed housing community.

The latest Navigation update will just add more points of interest, gas stations, movie theaters, restaurants, etc.

If you think that paying out $147 for the latest POIs is worth it, that is up to you

I drive all over California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas & maybe 3 times in the last 5 years, i looked at my Nav screen & the highway that i was driving on looked like a field on the screen, those times i knew that i was on a new highway

I updated 6 months ago and they are still 3 years behind my Garmin updates and the system still sucks. I got my Garmin with a huge screen for $150 with free updates for life...So the radio will be a radio and the GPS will do GPS

Thanks for responding! The updates are what I pretty much expected. At $149 a pop to update, which I have already done once, I’ll wait another year before updating again. There is a lot of road construction going on around Charlotte so I guess it’s best I wait until most of it’s completed!

wait until after the construction has been completed & add at least 1 extra year
It takes the mapping company at least a year to assemble & correlate the information, then they come out with the new update

I call the mapping company directly to make my purchase
You can find out when the next update will be available
You don't want to make a purchase in, lets say, June & have the next update come out in say August

I use WAZE on my phone with a dash mount.

Last year I bought the update, it is still 2 years behind. Speed limits are wrong all over the place. Navigation is rough in areas of construction and whatnot.
