I used a K&N in a 4.0 L Jeep that I had for many years. I did get a slight MPG increase (maybe 1-2 MPG). After several years of using it and having over 200,000 miles on the Jeep I decided to change the throttle body sensors just for S&G's (not having any problems). Although I did not have any problems, when I pulled the air cleaner tube off the throttle body I found the throttle body covered in oil from the spray treatment for the filter. Will I ever use one again, probably not. I was driving about 35,000 miles a year then so I might have seen a little savings from it.

It's been proven over and over that the K&Ns allow more particles into the intake than the OEM paper filters. The tuning vendors say to stay with the OEM filters because they filter better than oil filters and the oil filters do not provide any performance benefits.

If ou want better filtration, while still getting maximum air flow,
get a EcoDeisel/6.4 Hemi lower air box
and inlet,
allowing for much greater air flow

or, if you want insane amount of air flow, do this mod.

using this hose, connected to the new 3 inch whole you just cut in the bottom of your stock Air Box,

to this scoop , mounted to teh side of your radiator,
forcing colder, outrside air into your air box, as you speed down the road.

or, you can just buy a piece of crap K&M filter and feel good about doing something, to improve your performance that actually harms your truck and reduces its performance and life expectancy. Giving all those who have any knowledge of air filters, a chuckle out of your K&M Sitcker.

Up to you

I'm running S&B in my 2014, 2500 HD 5.7. Been in there about a year. It sounds amazing with all ports open and it definitely adds a little juice but the MPG definitely dropped a hair. Could be normal or could be because it's more fun to drive like you stole it when you can feel it vibrating the body panels and hear the hemi from a mile away. Factory exhaust and she's pretty nasty.
