Did you end up getting it fixed?

My front strap broke on my 2015 in October, shearing right through the aluminum driveshaft. Installed new shaft myself ($350 + $200 to tow it home, + $100 rental truck to drive 2 hours and pick up the used part.) Currently have a ratchet strap holding the tank on.
Ram keeps giving me the runaround on getting anything resolved. They claim its because it rusted out the slot in the frame rail.
I dont think they're gonna replace the strap or reimburse me for the driveshaft.
Normally warranties do not cover damage caused by rust, however in this case the X75 extended warranty DOES cover. I expect your dealership just assumed it is not covered due to rust. They need to read the X75 extended warranty documentation which covers the entire repair process and required parts. The root cause is that water gets trapped inside the frame rail and rots out the location where the front gas tank strap attaches to the frame rail. It weakens the slot in the frame rail allowing the "T" on the end of the gas tank strap to pull through the rotted out area.

The repair kit includes brackets that get attached to the frame rail for the new straps to lock into. The brackets are designed to cover over the area that rusted out. Note - in severe cases if the rusted out area extends to the mounting points for the new brackets, repairs to the frame rail are not included in the warranty extension and would be an out of pocket expense (this is what my dealership told me). When my 2013 was repaired, everything was covered at no cost to me.

Thanks for the assist @Tom-G !

We would be happy to be of assistance @John Menius !

Any possibility you can assist me with Stellantis violating the Magnuson-Moss warranty act? I've gotten nothing but a run around. I tried arbitration, apparently the arbitrator that Stellantis agreed to abide by works for Stellantis, they told me the warranty doesn't apply.

I'm still out $1000 (not counting loss of use, cancelled trip, etc.) and would prefer to not have to go to the AG's consumer affairs process.

My 2015 Ram 1500 Sport crew cab 4wd has done the same thing. The fuel tank strap has pulled loose from the frame rail. The last 8 digits of the VIN are FS777310. Can you check to see if and how I can get mine covered?

I did read it and I've been calling all those phone numbers to Canada and the U.S. and they all keep telling me since it was imported into the U.S. all warranties are VOIDED. Moral of the story here, don't buy any vehicles that have been imported after originally purchased in another country because they will not honor any warranties. I purchased this truck in Kansas in 2022. I am now finding out the original owner purchased it in Canada so I'm screwed.

Diamond - can you please provide the @ramcares phone number for Pipefitter02?

@Pipefitter02 - the X75 warranty extension covers all of North America and several other regions. It doesn’t make sense that coverage was denied. Hopefully @ramcares will be able to assist with this.

I've tried but I can't seem to find where to go to do a pm. Send me one and we can go from there i guess or just email me at
