Well guys as some can see I've never really posted much since joining in 2011 but recently bought a 96 rc 2500 with the v10 to pull my boat instead of using and abusing my 06 srt10 qc. Anyway the truck is super clean with 120k , motor and tranny-4x4 really sound. So I was driving around last night and was just thinking how smooth and good this truck runs, then noticed that my lights looked like they went dim. I was driving with the fog lights on along with the headlights and thought wow I must have blown a bulb. So I shut off the fogs to see if I could see which one blew without pulling over to check and when I did it was total darkness. Every other exterior light from parking , tail ,brakes and turn signals along with fogs work great , just no headlights. The only headlight relay I found in the engine bay looked fine. Can't seem to find the issue. Is there another fuse or relay somewhere or could the switch be bad. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ok quick note! So after I wrote this thread I went outside and started messing with the headlight switch and low and behold the lights came back on for a few minutes then when I turned fog lights on they went out so I shut fog lights off and they came on then turned fog lights back on and now all are on! I freakin puzzled!!!

Ok update... Lol! Fog lights shut off because brights were on then would come back on with low beams. I know this is normal. Think I have either a faulty light switch or bad connection behind it because if I toy with switch a little bit the lights dim and or go out. Does this sound like an accurate diagnosis or is there something else to check for? Thanks

Ok so no one responded with any info but I took the light switch out and found one of the tabs loose and the connector at the point of the loose tab is a little melted. Started looking for a new switch to find out that there was a recall on them. I copy and pasted the item and what it said....
Rare and Hard to find, I found a crate in our warehouse!

FACTORY, OEM, GENUINE MOPAR

Headlamp Switch and Wiring Socket Kit

For 1994 - 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 Trucks

This was the Factory Recall part kit for the Ram Trucks. The Headlamp switch had / has a tendency to overheat and melt. Possibly causing the headlamps to go off while driving, as well as destroying the switch and the pigtail socket.

This kit includes a brand new, re-enginered switch as well as a new wiring harness / pigtail to solve the problem. These were very hard to come by.

These kits are brand new, and in the sealed package. Get them before they are gone.

BEWARE OF AFTERMARKET KITS! Get the factory fit, function and quality of an original MOPAR part!!!

MSRP $144.00

By the way guys, I don't know if any of you tried the tab that was attached at the end but I just did and didn't work. Anyway when I first posted this it did work but the new switches it showed retailed for almost $150 but he was selling them on ebay where I bought mine for $50 with free shipping. Don't know if they were sold out or listing ended.
