I have a 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 with the 5.9L V8 sport package. I recently had to change my water pump and thermostat. After properly running and reading the proper temperature for a few days, the truck started reading a high temp for a few seconds at start-up then return to norm. Now, the truck automatically reads 280 degrees at start-up, even if it is 30 degrees out. I am assuming that the temperature sensor has gone bad and wanted your opinions. Is this right? And if so, does any have a Haynes manual to look upload images of the location of the sensor and how to replace it?
