I want Android Auto on an OEM 8.4 radio

I have a '16 2500 with a 8.4N radio and the alpine speakers. I think the radio part number is 68258671AF or 68258071AF can't really make out the tag. I tried going to an aftermarket Kenwood with the Maestro adapter, but was unhappy with the results. It did not use the factory mic for the phone and the steering wheel phone controls only worked if Android auto was active. Also the Maestro doesn't work with my subwoofer and they are looking into that. I want android auto but want 'normal' functionality to.

The 2018 up RAM radio's support Android Auto. So is it as simple as just finding a 2018 + radio and plunking it in?

Will I have to enter some security code or have something flashed at the dealer?

Is there a way to identify radios that support AA? I see them on eBay for $400 to 600 and figure I can get $350 for mine.

hanks in advance for your help

So, my investigations have lead me to Infotainment. I think it is overpriced for a reconditioned radio, but what are you going to do. They sell a RAM OEM radio kit which includes a USB adapter that mounts in the console and an upgraded climate control module for a mere $2200. They offered me $250 for my current radio and I've asked if they can do better - we'll see.

From the video it looks like a great radio and is supposedly plug and play. I'll let you know.

I still have to figure out how to sell it on eBay where they are going for more money but you have to unlock it. Anyone have an idea about that? I just called my dealer and they said it would have to be installed in the new vehicle and they would charge about $150 to program it

Update: I installed the unit from Infotainment. Even though someplace I read there was some correction to the temperature control, nothing was installed to do this. I installed the new USB hub in my console, the new one does not have a SD card slot and sticks out further into the compartment. As per instructions, I had to wait for a day for the radio to find SXM. After 24 hours I am still getting a "Device not supported" error but most things seem to be working.

I kept getting 'Device not supported' errors when I first powered up. Then about a month into using it, it would not pair with either mine or my wife's phone. I replaced the radio and the USB adapter on warranty and now it is working great. It no longer gives me the 'device not supported' error. I wonder if the fact that I tried the first radio out without changing the USB adapter and then I got the error and changed the adapter. This radio performs like the radio that originally came in the truck except I have Android Auto.
