Please Help, 2008 Dodge Ram 3.7 No Start Issue, Just Died While Driving

My vehicle is a 2008 Dodge Ram 3.7 short wheel base, automatic.

I was driving and it just died, was told by a friend that it was more than likely a crank or cam position sensor.
I first attempted spaying gas directly into the breather and it did attempt to start, checked for spark at the plugs, there was none, so i took the suggestion and I replaced both.

Still no start but now i do have spark, I can spray gas into breather and it will start momentarily
if i remove the breather and spray directly into opening it will continue to run but as soon as i stop spraying gas in it dies.

I checked all fuses, all show to be fine.
I compressed the pressure test point on rail and there is no fuel pressure present, humm.

Next I pulled wires out of loom right at the fuel pump but not sure what I'm actually looking as far as feed (voltage) on particular wires.
I have searched to find no information

This is what I found,
Large Orange Wire - No voltage with key on or cranking ( I am thinking this should be a 12 volt supply wire to run pump ).

Large Black Wire - Ran test wire 12 volts to help check if the large black wire was ground it and it showed to be.

Small Black Wire - did not test it ? assume it is an additional ground not sure what for.

Small Blue Wire - did not test it ? assumed it was the feed for the tank level.

Does any of the wires get a signal to supply 12 volts to pump or is the wire constantly supplied to power pump ?

I did find information on bypassing a fuel regulator on a 2011 Dodge Ram, but the fuse blocks or what they call the TIPM is totally different that what I have, Ill attach a image of the style I have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would the fuel pump run, if I jumped 12 volts to the large orange wire ?

Would be great to know exactly how the voltage is applied and which wire actually supplies voltage to pump.

If I could get a wiring / color break down on the fuel electrical it would help tremendously.

Thank you in advance for help:smileup:

You need to read the codes. My fuel pump went out. My mechanic diagnosed in 1 minute. Crank sensor went out on my RT Magnum, same thing. My mechanic uses a Snap On scan tool. I could probably do it with my Diablo tuner, but its much easier to let an expert do it. The crank sensor was a few bucks for the sensor and $50 labor to fix. AutoZone had a fuel pump for the Ram, for like $100, and only $50 labor. If I'd try to fix, I'd still be scratching my azz.:4-dontknow: Yes, sounds like a fuel pump, but a scan tool will tell you for sure. I should say, my mechanic diagnosed the bad pump, dropped the tank, replaced it for $50!

Thank You for the response.

I did check for codes and none were present.

I changed the sensors, crank and cam beings there was no spark at the plugs, after changing there was spark and could force feed fuel into and it would start.

I was curious as to working of the system, I usually do my own work , but this one has me stumped.

If someone could tell what voltages should be on what wires at the terminal on the fuel pump it would be a tremendous help or what role each wire plays cranking engine and not cranking engine.

Maybe a wire schematic for the ignition / fuel system that would help greatly also.

Thank You
