Will these wheels fit a 99 2wd?

I’ve searched forums extensively and still haven’t received a definitive answer to my question. I have a 1999 Ram 1500 Quad cab 2wd, with the factory 16” aluminum wheels as pictured. I want to convert to chrome, possibly 17”, as pictured. I know they are from a later year, and I’ve heard the front hubs may be too large for later date wheels. Will they fit without mods? And what would be the largest tire I could use without rubbing / mods? Hoping someone can give me an answer, thanks!

I'm working on installing the DG56 wheels, like the ones shown in the photo of the maroon truck, above, on my '94 2WD Ram 1500. I found that they fit the rear hubs fine, and the inside diameter at the back of the wheel is OK, but the issue is this: The truck hub diameter is fairly consistently large and long. The wheel's hub bore necks down quickly and the distance between where the wheel mounts to the hub face and the plastic center cap is shorter than the trucks hub. So that leaves at least three options: 1. Get different wheels; 2. Bore out the center of the front wheels, and possibly make your own center cap; or 3. Buy wheel spacers or adapters. I'm likely opting for #3, should know more after measurements tonight. I'm determining how thick the spacer needs to be, then mocking up the cross section of the tire / wheel with plywood and checking for clearance. Cheers, -John

Edit: I have come across some aftermarket wheels that are 18 x 8.5, +18 offset (correct bolt pattern and hub bore) with 265/70/18 tires. They are too cheap to pass up. I used the Tiresize calculator and it shows, compared to stock, they are almost exactly the same distance from the suspension on the inside edge, and stick out about 3/4” more that the 16”. That setup would raise the truck 1” and make the tire 1” closer to the fenderwell than stock (30.5 vs 32.6), so since mine is a 2wd the height is a concern along with rubbing when steering lock to lock. I may just have to buy and test fit. Any input?

I have a 99 2wd i went from 16 to 17 inxch dodge rims and the bolt pattern was good but the hub on the rim was to small a diameter on the fronts. Have to put spacers that are 1/2 inch.
